Dr. Ishita Taneja is a board-certified orthodontist who brings genuine enthusiasm, clinical precision, and a deep care for her patients to everything she does. Dr. Taneja grew up in India and moved to the United States to attend dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her dental education, she was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. She was also the recipient of multiple awards recognizing her clinical skill and commitment to the profession, including the American Association of Orthodontists Award for her keen interest in the orofacial complex, the American College of Dentists Award for professional technical ability, and the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award for her desire to serve the community.
After earning her DMD, Dr. Taneja remained at UAB for her orthodontic specialty training, where she conducted research on methods to close missing tooth spaces and earned her Master of Science degree.
Dr. Taneja is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Outside of the office, Dr. Taneja enjoys traveling, long walks with her two doodles Turbo and Willow, and a good cup of coffee. She also has a well-documented appreciation for a solid dad joke.
